  • Filters:
      • Alien Skin Eye Candy 5: Impact
      • FM tile tools
      • Penta.com - color dot
      • Ulead Effects - particle (Pay attention!!! Read carefully during installation and redirect to PSP NOT to  photoshop)
    • Redfield - Water Ripples - here (open website Redfieldplugins.exe 9 filters package (freeware))


    Install these filters.


  • Preparation
    Take a dark color for the foreground color, I chose #066577, and a lighter one for the background color I took #45b4c5
    (If you choose other colors , take compatible colors with little contrast)

    To start, our material palette looks like this:

    If you take other images, please resize:

    In the second part of this lesson we will use two different gradients as well, one for the foreground and one for the background.

Attention, if you use different colors, feel free to change the opacity and/or the blend mode of the layers

THE LESSON

Part one
  1. Open a new image:
    File - New - new image: with the dark foreground color (right click in the color and your recently used colors will appear):.

  2. Layers - new raster layer
  3. Flood fill with the light background color (click right mouse button to fill)
  4. Layers - load/save mask–load mask from disc and choose @nn_240708_mask_001_Chinouk_tdstudio.PspMask:

  5. Layers - merge - merge group
  6. Effects - 3D effects - drop shadow with settings shown below:

  7. Activate the image: chinouk_1.jpg
    Edit - copy - paste as a new layer (do not move, they stay where they have to stay, that’s why it is important to take the exact measurements from my images.)
  8. Activate the second image: chinouk_2.jpg
    Edit - copy - paste as a new layer
  9. Window - duplicate
  10. Delete the layer from the duplicated tag, you have 2  frames now:

  11. Activate 1 frame (from the two you have)
  12. Image - resize:

  13. Activate the 2d image and resize with the same settings.
  14. Image – add borders1PX dark color #066577:

    Repeat this on the 2d image (So your 2 images have a dark border now):

  15. Put these 2 frames to the side, but do not close, you will still need them.
Part 2
  1. Open a new image: File - new - new image (transparent this time) also change width and height:

  2. PAY ATTENTION, change foreground color into gradient and choose  DUOTOON IVOOR (duotone ivory = corel 06_007)
    (If you use different colors, search a nice gradient or pattern...)

    Change your background into a foreground – background gradient with following settings:

    Your material palette looks like this – pay attention, so that you do not make a mistake :

  3. Flood fill the layer from 900 px width with your background gradientVerloop donker
  4. Adjust - blur - Gaussian blur: radius: 12
  5. Effects - distortion effects – Polar coordinates with settings shown below::

  6. Effects - plug-in Ulead effects - Particle:
    Activate effect Cloud, then click LOAD and activate CLOUD 1. When you did all this you can click OK:
    (Pay attention: if you work with different colors, you may try out  OPACITY under Particle parameters)

  7. Layers - duplicate
  8. Effects - plug-in Redfield - Water ripples standard settings:

  9. Activate the layer palette and decrease the opacity of the layer to 25%

  11. Selections - load/save selection –load selection from disc and choose selection @nn_030109_Selectie001_Chinouk_tdstudio

    (Do you work with different colors and do you want to change the color? Proceed as follows:
    Image – Negative image - File - export as custom brush – layer palette - new raster layer and stamp the brush with the color you like)
    Edit - copy - paste as a new layer on your working area and replace with your moving tool: see example:
